| Specimen Required: |
Collect: Cervical, urethral or vaginal swab, or semen or urine.
Specimen Preparation: Place swab or specimen in Mycoplasma transport media (UTM) (ARUP supply #12884). Available online through eSupply using ARUP Connect™ or contact ARUP Client Services at (800) 522-2787. (Min: 0.5 mL) Also acceptable: Any transport media validated for Mycoplasma/Ureaplasma transport, such as M4 (DO NOT USE M4 RT). Place each specimen in an individually sealed bag.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Frozen on dry ice.
Remarks: Specimen source required.
Unacceptable Conditions: Non-urogenital sources. M4 RT, swabs in bacterial transport media, or dry swabs.
Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 48 hours in Mycoplasma transport media; Frozen at -70°C: 1 month
