Specimen Required: Collect: Plain red.

Specimen Preparation: Transfer 6 mL serum to ARUP Standard Transport Tubes. (Min: 4.5 mL)

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Remarks: Avoid use of separator tubes and gels.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation from cells: Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 2 months

Interpretive Data: The following drugs or drug classes may be detected: acetaminophen, alcohols, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, carbamazepine, carisoprodol, disopyramide, meprobamate, phenytoin, primidone, salicylate, theophylline, tricyclic and other antidepressants.
Note: 1. When less than the minimum volume of 4.5 mL serum is submitted, testing will be performed using less serum which may result in reduced sensitivity.
2. This test is not optimized for most drugs of abuse (amphet/methamphet, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, propoxyphene, PCP, THC); instead, refer to (0092420) -- Drugs of Abuse 9 Panel, Serum or Plasma - Screen with Reflex to Confirmation.
