Wildcards Symbol (*)

The wildcard symbol (*) can be used in place of letters or characters in query words to search for different permutations of a word.

*	Can be in any position in the term and matches any number of characters.

Boolean Parameters

Search terms can be a single word or several words. The search engine automatically inserts and between words if nothing else is specified, so the Boolean term and can be omitted in search terms. For example, searching for tissue assay is the same as searching for tissue AND assay.

Specimen Required:	Collect: Tumor tissue. Specimen Preparation: Formalin fix (10% neutral buffered formalin) and paraffin embed tissue. Protect from excessive heat. Transport tissue block or four 10 micron shavings. Tissue block will be returned after testing. Storage/Transport Temperature: Room temperature or refrigerated. Ship in cooled container during summer months. Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens fixed/processed in alternative fixatives or heavy metal fixatives (B-4 or B-5) or tissue sections on slides. Frozen specimens. Decalcified specimens. Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: Indefinitely; Refrigerated: Indefinitely; Frozen: Unacceptable
