Specimen Required: Patient Prep: Test is performed on patients with warm autoantibodies who have been pregnant or transfused within the past 3 months.

Collect: Plain red AND lavender (EDTA).

Specimen Preparation: Do not freeze red cells.
Transport 15 mL whole blood (plain red) AND 7 mL whole blood (EDTA) in original collection tubes.
Pediatric:
Transport 3 mL whole blood (plain red) AND 2 mL whole blood (EDTA) in original collection tubes.


Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Remarks:

Unacceptable Conditions: Separator or gel tubes.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 72 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: Unacceptable
