Renal Pathology special studies provide the community pathologist with diagnostic support, therapeutic monitoring, and monitoring for rejection. Services are available for the diagnosis of primary kidney diseases as well as evaluation of diseases that may involve kidney transplants in adults or children. Preliminary results are available within 24 hours of receipt of the biopsy; the pathologist on service will contact the nephrologist with preliminary diagnosis. Emergency diagnosis service is also available on weekends or holidays for STAT biopsy processing and interpretation.
